⚽Back on the Cover: Kylian Mbappé Named EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Edition Cover Star
The king of European football is officially back on the virtual pitch cover. Electronic Arts has formally revealed that Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappé will serve as the cover athlete for the EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Edition, as well as EA Sports FC Mobile.
This marks a major return for Mbappé, who last graced the series box art in FIFA 23 before the franchise rebranded. Now, after a four year hiatus from the cover, the French superstar makes his official debut under the EA Sports FC name.
🏆 A Summer of Individual Dominance
The timing of the cover reveal comes right on the heels of a historic year for the 27 year old striker:
2026 World Cup Golden Boot Winner: Mbappé put on a masterclass on the international stage, netting 10 goals in 8 matches for France during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
European Champions League Top Scorer: During the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League campaign with Real Madrid, Mbappé claimed the Golden Boot with 15 goals.
Back-to-Back La Liga Trophies: Since moving to Santiago Bernabéu in 2024, he has finished as top goalscorer in Spain for two consecutive seasons.
"To be featured on the cover of an EA Sports FC title for the first time is a very special moment for me," said Mbappé in an official statement. "It is an honor to continue my long-term relationship with the franchise in its latest chapter."

This cover announcement kicks off a full week of reveals for the upcoming title. Fans will not have to wait long for their first look at virtual gameplay:
